sad story of bait and switch blended with attitude and deception. Owner sells me a brush hog stating "valves need adjusting on this 4 stroke engine running on 2 stroke gas". Asked how many hours of run time prior to bringing it back.... "40 hours". Brought it in for the adjust and tune to learn it's toast, done, ruined, unfixable for under $1,000.00. Ran 100% non alcohol fuel with premium Stihl oil (always less than 30 days old). Big Stihl fan proud owner never heard a dealer say throw it away buy another. Be ware shop elsewhere!

I have never had a bad experience shopping here. Staff is always friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I went in today to purchase a MS170 which is the least expensive homeowners saw they have, just for a back up to my larger saw. Had to wait till after work to give it a try, when I got home from work I went through the proper start process for Stihl saws and it fired right up on the third pull, so I pruned the apricot tree then decided to give it a real workout cutting a 2 foot spruce log in half. No problem! It’s definitely not as powerful as their bigger saws but it beats the heck out of some of the old saws my dad had in the ‘80s and will serve the purpose I have. This is the place to buy from if you’re shopping for Stihl products in Santa Fe!

Went in yesterday at 4:45. The guy saw me coming and immediately pulled out his phone to check the time, because Of his attitude he I'm sure wanted to go home and tell me they were closed. I had 2 chainsaws that needed repaired, one we bought there as well as 3 other Stihl equipment. He was rude and unhelpful. One chain saw he wouldn't consider working on and the one I bought from them would be 5 weeks and he wanted a deposit without even looking at it. He had absolutely no customer service and was almost begging me to take my saws elsewhere. So I did. I have dealt with small engine repair shops in Colorado for 30 yrs, and I have never had them tell me more than a week, even in the middle of summer. They are expensive and have horrible customer service, I would look elsewhere for your Stihl products! Response to owner: That is not Accurate. He pulled the phone out his pocket when I was pulling up. I did not say they were sitting for a long time. I said I just moved here and that the fuel in the fuel tank was True fuel. He didn't even take the time to ask me if there had been ethanol used in them. Last, that chain saw is almost brand new and shouldn't need parts. Why assume you need parts when maybe a carburetor clean and adjustment may do the trick.

Bob, we are sorry to hear you felt your experience was poor. Upon our camera review we do not see that the encounter happened as you describe. The employee in question was already on the phone when you came in. Unfortunately parts have become quite difficult to procure - some brands have simply stopped making repairable items electing to instead make only replaceable units. We tell this to everyone who brings small engine equipment in for repair when this is the case. We take the deposit because far too often we put time & effort into properly diagnosing & estimating a repair only to have the unit left with us and no response from the owner - our time is valuable. Almost every small engine repair shop in this country does the same. It is nice to hear that the small business community is alive & thriving in Colorado so much so that the busiest time of year across the country has only a week turnaround, especially considering the lack of workforce. You did inform the employee that the saws had been sitting for a few years - generally this can be an issue when it comes to repair - replacement parts are almost always required in this case, and as mentioned before they have become difficult to procure. We have quite a lot of units here waiting on parts. Many times we have customers who feel that their equipment & need for repair exceeds that of those already in our work queue & insist that they be moved ahead of others. We do not condone this. Good luck to you and your repairs!
