This afternoon I visited Orschlen Farm and Home for the first time. I'm new to Nebraska and needed to buy winter clothes and accessories. This store was highly recommended by a lady who works at my apartment building. I purchased some clothing and household items which cost me $46.77. After I paid for my purchase, I was stopped by a Hastings police officer in the parking lot. She asked me my name, I gave it and she wrote it down in her notebook. Then she told me that I fit the description of a shoplifter who was in the store who was dressed in all black. I had the misfortune of wearing my black workout gear tonight. I told her that it wasn't me and I paid for my purchase, my receipt was in my bag. She asked me to come into the store with her instead of checking my receipt outside. There were several people in line and the officer asked the clerk if I was the shoplifter. The clerk said no and said that there was more to the description which didn't fit me. Then I was dismissed by the officer. I was never so embarrassed in my life! To be walked back into the store when she could have checked my receipt outside was humilitating. I really want a refund, however I am scared to go back into this store. Be careful shopping in this store. Even if you are not a thief like myself, you may be treated like one. I will not be back.

I stop by Orschelns about once a month for dog food. They carry the brand I prefer for my German Shepard and a variety of flavors. I've also purchased a few of their large breed dog beds for better prices than what I've seen online. The facilty itself is always clean and has a polite staff.
