We pulled in not really knowing what we needed exactly but we were ready for some potting dirt. They were knowledgeable and helpful in both what we needed and about quantity we would need. Great place.

Friendly service with a good selection of different landscaping rocks, bark, etc. Will be back in a few weeks to get more rock for the backyard.

Best place to get bulk bark in Yakima area. Prices are  reasonable.
Hours have been adjusted during pandemic, so it would behoove you to check on loading time availability.
Bring a tarp to cover load of mulch,
(you can be ticketed for "unsecured
load" ).

This review is for Morton and sons “potting soil” only.
While it seems to be a well mixed blend suited for planting in pots it quickly separates into a dense clay like layer below and a mulch-like layer above when any amount of water is added.
The dense bottom layer makes drainage near impossible even with an added layer of rock/gravel at the bottom of the pot for drainage.
Possibly good garden soil, but not suited for planting in pots as advertised.

Very friendly people to work with, went in asked Jenny what soil would be good for raised vegetable beds and she steered us to top soil blend, got the truck loaded and home we went.

Called the business consecutively because google says it was open. Anyways the phone got answered a couple times and no one talked. All you could hear was a person coughing. I am a Moxee resident who will be taking my business to Anderson Rock. They were prompt with answering the phone and scheduling me an appointment for product delivery. Highly recommend them although you will pay for it especially if they have to transport product across town but will get the job done.

Great customer service. My first time there and was asked if I wanted some help and inquired about my project and gave me ideas.  The best parts they have a table set out of their sample products they have to offer.

The photo shows about $8 worth of firewood.  One of the best places in town to pick it up.

I also love their Black Fines mulch for weed prevention and garden fertilizer

Great service best place in town to for all your landscaping material needs. From rock to mulch and landscaping fabric they have just about everything you need.

The owner of this company, Mike, is a complete jerk. We purchased thousands of dollars worth of material from Morton and Sons. The first two deliveries were seemingly fine, but the loads did appear small. I gave Morton and Sons the benefit of the doubt and proceeded to use the materials that were delivered. On the third delivery, the material we recieved was quite obviously less material than what we ordered. I phoned the company to notify them and the owner passed the phone off to the delivery driver. I insisted to speak with the owner and he immediately  proceeded to tell me that i was wrong and how they've been in this business for 20+ years. I tried to send him photos of the materials delivered but he refused. Instead he informed me that he was going to drive out to our location and measure the material and will proceed to bill us extra if it ends up being the 10 yards of soil that was ordered.  Sure enough,  Mike drives 45 minutes to our site and determines that our delivery was less than the amount ordered.  He told my employees that he was going to cal me but he didn't.  Since then i have calculated out the materials from one of the first deliveries and have determined that Morton and Sons shorted us on one of the first deliveries as well.

I suspect that Morton & Sons shorts everyone on their material deliveries. Calculating cubic yards of material is not easy to do for many people so it's easy to cheat people on such a thing.  The owner is a complete jerk and has no awareness of customer service either.  Steer clear of this business.
