The guys in the parts department were great. The one salesperson came outside after our purchase (in the freezing cold) to let us know he found another parts # listed for gaskets that were different than the ones we already bought to make sure we didn't have to make more than one trip there. In fact both gaskets were needed to complete the repairs correctly. Good to know there is employee's willing to go that extra mile to help. They both deserve raises in my book.

I just took my lawn mower to McHenry's for its spring tuneup. Runs great now and it's almost as clean as when I bought it 5+ years ago! They said it would take two weeks and that was right on the money. Price was decent. Everyone I talked to was very nice and informative. I've used other small engine places in the area - McHenry's is by and far the best of the bunch!

I tried to return a Starter (for my lawn Tractor) that I never installed only to have a McHenry associate tell me the Starter cannot be returned because it had been installed. I told the associate I did not install the Starter and he said, “I’m not saying you installed it, but it has been installed and cannot be returned”. Curiously I looked at the Starter and asked what he saw, he said look at the mounting holes. The only thing I could see was a chamfer around one of the holes that looks like a manufacturing flaw and there was nothing that looked like installation wear. It didn’t matter what I said because his mind was made up….it cannot be returned. I only wish I would have taken the time to look the Starter over when I bought it before leaving the store because I’m sure the chamfer cut around the mounting hole was there when I bought it. Now I’m out the cost of the Starter, a Starter that I don’t need. I’m thinking about filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.
