I have been a customer of John's Home and Yard Service for 2 Years now and I have been very happy with their service. Several times, I've forgotten to kennel my dog during a day where they come out and they have always handled it very kindly and professionally. The weed control, fertilization, and aeration have been effective at helping maintaining my lawn and making it look great. I definitely recommend!

Chris is the best.  His custom blend of fertilizer and weed control is top notch.  I'm very pleased to see the dog has been handled with care.

Is a very knowledgeable owner and has done lawns basically his entire life. He does above quality work and expects his employees do professional grade lawncare.

Horrible service for tree and shrub trimming as well as sprinkler repair. The 2 trimming guys had no idea what they were doing. They  butchered my shrubs and left the trimmings in the shrubs as well as several dead branches that I asked them to cut off. The branches they actually trimmed were randomly cut in the center instead of back to the trunk. When asked to remove the dead branches off my apple tree that has fire blight, they said they were not qualified @ $86 an hour. This cost me $510. When I complained and had them come back they charged me an additional $226.10. I have never paid over $250 for twice as much work. My neighbor saw their and unfortunately hired them. She was just as unhappy and they also cut in to her drip system.  The sprinkler repair was just as bad if not worse. I asked them to align some rotary heads and replace any popup heads that were needed,  to make adjustments to compensate for whatever brown grass they saw.  The 2 rotary heads I specifically asked them to align weren't done but they did replace and charge me for several rotary heads that were working well and I did not authorize. Not only did they not correct for all the brown grass, I now have several new ares that are not getting water and the grass is dying. They also put in an addition rotary head were there was no problem and there is an underground leak that is so bad that I had to turn off the water to the entire sprinkler system. There are also 2 popup heads that have some kind of break in them and a third that appears plugged. When calling them today, at 652-8985, the call says it can not go through.

UPDATE 9/23 - Sandi, I have called you at least 10 times and left messages, and wrote multiple emails.  You have not answered or returned a single call or email.  In fact, you have now blocked me without us even speaking in regard to this matter.  I'm not out to make enemies with anyone, I wanted to discuss it with you.    Take care.

Sandi, I'm sorry for your experience.  You and I met and discussed landscaping changes and shrub trimming.  During our meeting, you told me how you wanted to cut more back on some of the shrubs than you have ever had done.  We were to cut some shrubs as tall as 10 feet tall and just as big around and take them down to almost nothing.  I was worried about the specifics you were giving on the trimming and told the office that the trimmers would need to meet with you the day of service.
After the service, you called and told me how they "butchered" your shrubs.  I raced over there and did not find any shrubs in that condition.  I admit, there were some limbs on the mugo that should have been cut back further and there was some debris here and there that should have been picked up.  However, the rest of what you wanted was for us to cut more off the shrubs than we did initially.  You wanted that 10 foot tall and 10 foot wide shrub down to half a dozen smaller branches around 6 ft tall.  Out of the hundreds, we had cut it down to about 30 initially.  You also wanted a couple things trimmed here and there, but nothing major and nothing to justify "butchering."  In total, we took over two full trailer loads of branches and cuttings from your property.  I had you walk me around and show me every single thing you were unhappy about and fixed them on the spot.  I trimmed everything exactly how you requested and then had you walk around and give the nod of approval.

My guys did not tell you they were "not qualified."  They informed you the same thing I did during our initial visit, that we only trim up as high as a step ladder reaches.  The guys just forgot to cut the dead out of the tree.  I, however, climbed up over 30 feet into your tree to cut as high as I could climb.

As far sprinklers, this is the first time you have ever let us know you are unsatisfied.  When you and I met, you told me how my sprinkler guys had been there and gotten everything taken care of and so you were ready to move on with more work.  Your sprinkler visit was on July 2nd.  Today is August 10th and it has been mid to upper 90's pretty much everyday, with almost no rain since then.  It may be that the system has some tweeking to do because of the hot weather but if the problems are a direct result of our visit, they would be warranty fixes.

Why would you tell me face to face that you were satisfied and then write a review like this without calling me?  Why didn't you call about the sprinkler issues?  This is all very confusing to me.

I also just got off the phone with your neighbor and she says she never said she was unhappy or dissatisfied.  She said she was upset about the cut drip line but that we were extremely timely and had it fixed the same morning that she called.

Last, you have the right number.  I'm not sure why it did not go through.  I have called you multiple times and left you messages for a returned call to get this issue resolved.  I can meet you at your house or we can chat over the phone.

It is sometimes hard to find good people behind a business. John's Home and Yard service has excellent people working hard and doing an outstanding job. They have fixed the vinyl fence (two doors), reinforced our rotting deck, and they take care of the spring and fall sprinkler maintenance. Thank you guys for taking the time to do a quality job and not rushing through it just to get it done. You are always professional and polite. Your hard word is appreciated.
