  The Good: - Always on time and rarely, if ever, were a no-show which is a real problem with many lawn services. - If I made a request, they would usually make the attempt to abide by it. At least for awhile. - In the off chance they couldn't make it out to mow, they would usually call to notify me. - Showed at the same time of day, mostly, so was easy to plan yard activities around their mowing. The Bad: - Charged a lot of $$$ for a mediocre quality of mow. Never trimmed around anything, EVER! Not my fence. Not my trees, and certainly NEVER my ditch. - Never mowed my ditch, EVER!!! I get it....it would rain often the day before they were scheduled to mow and a mower would run the risk of being trapped in the muck. HOWEVER, that's why they invented weed whackers. They never once weed whacked my ditch. Not once! And I was paying them $200 a month for this service. - Since they never mowed the ditch, it would never dry out, compounding the problem.Grass would be a foot long. I would have to use my push mow and mow it myself or it wouldn't get done. - Half the time they wouldn't blow the grass clippings off my driveway or patio. So I would have to do it, myself. - Constantly blew grass clippings into my AC unit. How hard is it to point the mower blower AWAY from the house???? - Constantly left my gate to the backyard WIDE OPEN! I guess the guy hated my dog and wanted her to escape???? - Damaged my gate not opening it with care. No surprise there. - Disconnect between ownership and the actual workers. Owners/management seemed ok, but the guy they sent to now was a complete idiot. He was really lazy and always did a subpar job. - Worker would collect money and throw the envelope in my empty garbage bin, as it was always at the road because they mowed on trash day. I would then have to pick it out of the empty bin and dispose of it myself. I actually had to write on the envelope "Please, do no throw in empty trash bin." I actually had to write a note to ask the guy to exercise common sense and courtesy. Unreal. - Management never answered the phone and had a poor track record of returning calls. TLDR: Mediocre cuts for extra ordinary pay. Grand Blanc has a ton of lawn services, but they're mostly sketchy and lazy and if you've ever tried to hire a service to cut your grass, you're aware of this. I kept using Grass Monkey because it's so hard to get people to come out consistently to mow. But I wouldn't use them again.

  I highly recommend Grass Monkey! I was being lied to by my tenant/son about the lawn being mowed. I then received notice from Township for lawn violation and when I drove by, it was a complete nightmare and was in complete disgust to what I seen (he was not raised like this). Grass Monkey not only answered the phone (none of the others returned my call or emails) and got out there the next day (in between the rain) as he knew the urgency of the situation. He not only was able to get out there, but completed more than I thought he could considering the length and how wet the property was! Thank you again, Grass Monkey! You have know idea how much I truly appreciate it!

  I cannot express how happy I am that I came across Grass Monkey for lawn care for our new home! To be honest, I did try reaching out to a couple of other companies but had no success; left voicemails and got no calls back. I am so glad that they didn’t! Not only did Donny answer but, he answered on the weekend AND while at his niece’s Open House. He was extremely professional, polite, and friendly upon first point of contact. He answered all of my questions and was prompt in providing me with a quote within minutes of providing him with our address. Donny showed up when he said he would and did such a beautiful job and delivered the work he said he would. He will give you his honest advice and share his knowledge on his expertise with you and with patience. There is no mess to take care of outside upon coming home to the lawn mowed, no missed spots, nada but great work.Like I said, very professional. It isn’t always the most positive experience hiring some from the internet whom you haven’t met before. Grass Monkey has changed my mind re: such, though! Thanks, Donny/Grass Monkey!
